The Rhine Falls

The immense power of nature is well illustrated by this photograph of water coming over the Rhine Falls, near the town of Schaffhausen in Switzerland. This is the largest waterfall in Europe, 150 metres wide and 23 metres high, and in summer 600,000 litres of water goes over the falls every second. You can view the Rhine Falls from the platform as shown in this photo, or you can take a boat trip below the falls – either way you can’t help being impressed by the force of this mighty river.
