Graffiti on the railways
This image of rolling stock covered in graffiti was taken somewhere
on the Swiss railway network. Graffiti on railway property and trains is
a widespread problem in Europe and one which is difficult to counteract.
One way to deal with it is to stop seeing it as vandalism look at it is
as ‘street art’. The English artist Banksy, for example, started as a
political activist doing satirical graffiti, and now his artworks sell
for thousands of pounds – and the buyer has the problem of how to remove
the piece from its street location! |
