The Old Bridge and the old town

The Ottomans built the Old Bridge, Stari Most, in 1566. It was destroyed in the war in 1993, and rebuilt from stone raised from the river and cut in the old way; it opened again in 2004. Divers still jump from its top into the cold green water. On both banks the bazaar street of Kujundžiluk is lined with workshops selling engraved copper, the minarets of the mosques rise above the roofs, and small cafes serve Bosnian coffee in copper pots.
