Lluc
The Sanctuary of Lluc lies in a green valley in the Tramuntana mountains. Its basilica keeps the small dark statue of the Virgin, La Moreneta, said to have been found by a shepherd boy in the 13th century, and a boys’ choir, the Blauets, has sung here for centuries. Pilgrims have long come on foot, and every summer thousands walk through the night from Palma; around the courtyards are old pilgrims’ shelters, a museum, a botanical garden and the stepped Way of the Rosary up the hill.

Sant Salvador
Above Felanitx, the Puig de Sant Salvador rises to about 500 metres, and on its top stands a sanctuary founded in the 14th century, now with a small guest house. A tall monument to Christ the King faces it from one side of the summit and a great stone cross from a rock on the other, and the views reach over the whole plain of Mallorca to the east coast.
